Looking at the Intel Tools
- Use the links above to go to the Intel Thinking Tool called the VISUAL RANKING TOOL
- In teams - Login using the username and password you will be given - it will be one of the following: team1, team2, team3 (with the password being the same as the login. My teacher id is: hcarver (Several people will work at one computer. The decisions will need to be a collaborative effort.)
- Click and drag the boxes according to your thoughts around the prompting question.
- Click on the top right hand corner of each box to explain your reasoning
- Compare your thoughts wil the other groups.
How might you use this in a unit of work?
- Now go to the SHOWING EVIDENCE TOOL
- Follow the link and read about the Overview and Benefits of the type of thinking this tool encourages.
- Check out a few of the Unit Plans in the Project Examples
- We will watch the tutorial together
- (If you have time you may like to have a try at doing one - use the same student login as for the last activity and the project name is "Assessment Methods")
In what ways might this tool assist our students?
- Now lets look at the SEEING REASON TOOL
- Have a play with the map in the demo - move factors, add a factor, change the relationship between two factors
- Login as a student using one of the following logins: teame, teamg, teamh, teami (remembering the password is the same) and create a team map around the prompting question using your current knowledge and understanding. Remember we are looking at influences both POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE
In what ways is this different to a mind map?
